What is the difference between electrodes and conductive gel pads?: Show Details
Electrodes attach to lead wires and conductive gel pads attach to conductive garments and braces. The questions and answers listed below can be applied to both electrodes and conductive gel pads.
I think I am allergic to the electrodes. How do I know for sure? : Show Details
A small number of isolated skin reactions, including allergies and acne, have been reported in association with NMES devices. If in doubt, contact your clinician or a member of the neurotech® team.
Do the electrodes contain latex? : Show Details
Neurotech® electrodes and gel pads are latex-free. Make sure to only use CE approved, BMR-authorised biocompatible conductive gel pads.
When I took the electrodes off, my skin was red? What happened?: Show Details
A slight reddening of the skin is quite normal under the electrodes during and for a short time after treatment. If the redness persists, consult with your clinician or a member of the Neurotech® team.
My electrodes do not stay on, how do I fix this problem?: Show Details
To improve the adhesive strength of the electrodes, re-hydrate them with a few drops of water, rubbing the water in to the gel surface. Electrodes do wear out over time: If they are dirty or no longer adhere properly, they may need to be replaced.
My electrodes stick too much, what should I do to reduce the stickiness?: Show Details
Electrode stickiness is desirable. It indicates complete contact with your skin and thus, good conductivity of the electrical current.
How often do the electrodes need to be changed?: Show Details
With daily application, covering after each use, the electrodes should last at least 4 weeks. If usage is less frequent, the lifespan will be longer.
How do I clean the electrodes?: Show Details
Electrodes do not require cleaning. After each treatment, cover the conductive surface of each pad with the plastic liner supplied with the electrode.
How do I extend the life of the electrodes? : Show Details
Caring for electrodes by always replacing the plastic liners after each use will ensure that the electrodes will not prematurely lose their strength. Also, do not expose the electrodes to temperature extremes (consult the Instructions for Use manual of your device for the acceptable temperature range).
Which side of the conductive gel pads do I apply against the Kneehab garment?: Show Details
The side of the conductive gel pad that is printed with a grid should be placed against the garment. The solid colour side makes contact with the skin.
