Quattromed®
About Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis caused by the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of one or more joints, often thought to result from wear and tear on that joint. Without the body’s natural cushioning, patients experience pain, often chronic, which restricts their mobility.
Johns Hopkins estimates that, by the age of 40, about 90% of people have x-ray evidence of osteoarthritis in their weight-bearing joints, such as hips and knees, experiencing symptoms mainly later in life.*
Worldwide figures estimate that 12 percent of the population aged 65 and older suffer from OA of the knee, with 67 percent experiencing medial osteoarthritis.

About Quattromed®
Quattromed® introduces a new treatment option for arthritis patients suffering from medial knee pain (the medial side of the knee is the side closest to the other knee). This brace was designed using a non-invasive approach, to provide offloading within and mild compression around the knee joint.
Giving you every advantage, comfort and performance.
Advantages at a glance

- Allows you to enjoy a more active lifestyle.
- Encourages proper alignment of the patella.
- Promotes comfort and compliance.
Quattromed® excels under the weight of rigorous testing.
Clinicians worldwide know from experience that knee braces are effective treatment options for helping patients with osteoarthritis of the knee to relieve pain and increase mobility. The conventional approach to design, however, creates a heavy, rigid support brace that many patients find awkward and uncomfortable.
Quattromed® has been designed to specifically address the critical issue of brace-weight compared to the force that the brace can unload or redirect from the knee joint. This weight to unloading capability ratio is crucial to the comfort and performance of the brace and significantly influences the patient’s adoption, therapy compliance and treatment outcomes.
As the chart below demonstrates, Quattromed® is the best in its class. This a comparison with leading OA braces listed in the German Medical Device Directory.

Quattromed® provides the greatest corrective force per unit weight of the braces shown. This means Quattromed® delivers better results for patients in a lighter, less bulky brace.

Perfect for someone on the go, even if they’re going to work.
Walking shoes, workout shoes, winter boots - for anyone on the move, Quattromed® moves with them. The lightweight, low profile design accommodates most casual or dress pants, giving anyone with osteoarthritis new found freedom to enjoy their favourite daily living and physical activities more often. Pull on, pull off, comfortable sleeve and wrap-around design unloads impact forces to relieve pain.
How it works
A comfortable internal sleeve provides stability and gentle compression to stimulate more active lymph flow which helps reduce swelling, while the three-point strap system secures the knee and maintains correct joint alignment, dissipating pressure above and below the knee. Impact forces are effectively unloaded, making it easier to walk and enjoy physical activities throughout the day.
Quattromed® XP features integrated wiring, which enables the application of electrical stimulation, a clinically prove, highly effective therapy for treating knee pain.
Neurotech NMES and TENS devices can be used safely and effectively at home without medical supervision. Please read the instructions carefully, in particular the guidance on contra-indications and other precautions. We recommend that you consult a qualified medical professional before first starting a treatment regime with TENS or NMES, to ensure there is nothing about your specific medical condition which would affect safety of use. Similarly, if your health status deteriorates in any way, we recommend you check back with your medical professional to see if it is safe to continue to use TENS or NMES.
